Thelma Elizalde

Thelma is the founder of The Elizalde Group.  Her blended background in law, business and government brings a wealth of hands-on experience to her work as a mediator, trainer and coach.  

 
 • Business Communicator - Prior to entering the legal profession, Thelma gained leadership and business acumen as a public relations expert in the non-profit and private sectors.  She successfully  designed and implemented communication models geared for building and strengthening relationships  for organizations and their many stakeholders.  

• Lawyer and Mediator - Before beginning her private practice, Thelma was associated with the firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, focusing in the area of business reorganization.  It was during this time that she  gained substantial expertise working with clients in developing "out of the box" business strategies and solutions aimed at growing and strengthening their varied business relationships. Thelma also serves as  a hearing officer for the Texas Education Agency, using her civil practice background to conduct hearings on behalf of public school districts in the state of Texas.

For the last 19 years,Thelma has leveraged her legal and business experience to mediate a broad range of cases ranging from personal injury to contract, products liability, construction, family law, and  employment law. Thelma is trained in dispute resolution techniques, having received her certification and advanced training from the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Institute.

•Trainer and Coach - Merging career passions, Thelma is a knowledgeable expert in the area of communication, conflict resolution, change, and leadership.  She's conducted high impact training in  all 50 states and internationally.  As a coach, she gives her clients the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to achieve peak performance.
